Brian Dunn, Grove Community Housing Association Chair, is a community-driven advocate committed to uplifting the area's residents and ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities.

Brian's journey is testament to the transformative power of self-determination and community engagement. Leaving school without formal qualifications, Brian embarked on a journey of self education and resilience. He began his career in the hospitality industry, swiftly ascending to manage one of the largest social clubs on the Shore Road by the age of 21. Brian's tenure as a manager spanned over a decade, during which he honed his leadership skills and deepened his connection with the community. In 1977, he embarked on a new chapter of his life, marrying and simultaneously delving into community work. This marked the beginning of his enduring commitment to social betterment.

Brian co-founded the Social Supermarket and joined the board of the McDonalds Centre, and his efforts in community development were recognised with the prestigious honour of Freedom of the City.

Brian has served Grove Community Housing Association as Chair for over three years, having previously served as Board Member. His leadership has been characterised by a hands-on approach, actively participating in community events and initiatives.

Brian's tenure at Grove has provided invaluable insights into housing issues and community development, reaffirming the importance of responsive, people-centered approaches. Looking ahead, Brian envisions Grove's expansion both in housing stock and organisational capacity, cementing its position as a beacon of housing equity and community empowerment in North Belfast.
